ISLAMABAD: Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, estranged central PPP leader, said that the deportation of the PML-N leader, Mian Nawaz Sharif constituted a serious criminal offense as it was a slap in the face of the judiciary. Expressing his reaction to the deportation of the former Prime Minister to Saudi Arabia, hours after his landing at Islamabad Airport, Aitzaz Ahsan said the officers present at the airport were fully partners in this ‘crime.’ He said that the establishment had virtually led General Musharraf into a dead end. He asked the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) to live by the deicison of their Central Executive Committee and tender enmass resignation over the deportation of Nawaz Sharif.
The PML-Q CEC had, in its latest meeting, favoured the return of Mian Sharif and his taking part in the country’s politics. Even the PML-Q Presdient, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has advised that Nawaz Sharif enjoyed the right to return to the country and take part in political activities. Aitzaz Ahsan, who, like the former Punjab Chief Minister, Ghulam Mustafa Khar, is getting closer to the Sharif brothers, particularly in the wake of the reported deal between Presdient Pervez Musharraf and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, said that no political party will be able to strike a deal with the President, after this episode.-SANA
