SRINAGAR: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that nobody can overlook the sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir for the cause of freedom. “India and Pakistan cannot ignore people of Kashmir and they (Kashmiris) cannot be kept away from the dialogue process,” Malik told a gathering at Pattan in north Kashmir.
According to a JKLF spokesman, the JKLF chairman and other activists of the Front are camping at Pattan in connection with Safar-e-Azadi (Journey for Freedom), which commenced on May 20 from south Kashmir in Kokernag. The spokesman said hundreds of people participated in a torch procession led by the JKLF chairman and walked through different lanes of Pattan. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (headquarters Rajbagh) on Sunday paid rich tributes to Zahoor Hussain Gul and Muhammad Rafiq Mir on their tenth martyrdom anniversary, a JKLF( R) spokesman said in a statement here.
“Zahoor Hussain Gul and Muhammad Rafiq Mir died on September 3 1997 in Lalbazar in a gun battle with BSF men,” the spokesman said, adding that all the senior leaders of the front including Secretary General Muhammad Saleem Nanaji, chief organizer Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bita Karate, publicity secretary Wajhat Qureshi, deputy chief organizer Shafat Ahmed Shangloo and all the district presidents of the front attended a special prayer meeting convened for paying tributes to the martyrs. “The sacrifices rendered by the martyrs won’t be allowed to go in a vain and movement will be taken to its logical end,” the spokesman added.-SANA
