LAHORE: Appreciating the system of highways patrolling posts, Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that the said system is performing an effective role against crimes and secures the masses. He was presiding a high level meeting, evaluated the performance of patrolling posts at Chief Minister Secretariat.
During the meeting he said that such system proving very effective for curbing crime and promoting a sense of security among the masses. Chief Minster said the incidents of highway robberies, car-snatching and other crimes have reduced by 70 percent due to functioning of 210 patrolling posts in the province. He said that patrolling posts are also playing the role of a help-line for the people besides removal of illegal encroachments, traffic management as well as crime control.
Provincial Minister for Law & Local Government Muhammad Basharat Raja, Chief Secretary Punjab Salman Siddique, Chairman Planning & Development Suleman Ghani, Inspector General Police Punjab Ahmad Nasim, Secretary Home Khusro Pervaiz, Secretary Law Ahmad Farooq Sheikh, Secretary Communication and Works Ahsan Raja and DIG Highway Patrolling Mian Muhammad Asif were present on the occasion.-SANA
