ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that fresh round of talks would be held between the government and Pakistan Peoples Party in Dubai. According to a private TV channel while quoting a foreign news agency, the minister said that government wanted to continue the talks and the fresh round of talks would be held in Dubai. “President’s special advisor Tariq Aziz in the United Arab Emirates and possibly the fresh negotiations would take place there,” he stated.
Minister of State for Information Senator Tariq Azim also shared the same views, saying there is a possibility to resume the dialogue. He blamed the PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto for putting unrealistic demands that stalked the talks. The demands, he said, were not discarded and “if her demands were genuine, then understanding could be reached.” Earlier negotiations took place in London last week between the former prime minister and government representative Tariq Aziz ended in deadlock, with some leaders from the government side blamed Bhutto for asking too much concessions.-SANA
