DUBAI: Fresh round of talks between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and President General Pervaiz Musharraf’s special advisor were held which the political pundits termed to be the last effort to reach an agreement. The talks held between former prime minister and PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and president Musharraf’s special advisor Tariq Aziz, however sources closed to Benazir Bhutto denied the meeting. “No such talks took place yet,” sources said.
Earlier negotiations took place in London last week between the former prime minister and government representative Tariq Aziz ended in deadlock, with some leaders from the government block blamed Bhutto for asking too much concessions. Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani also said stalled talks on a deal expected to resume soon in Dubai while Federal minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that talks stalked between government and PPP but hoped that clear picture would emerge in a day or two. Referring to the fresh round of talks in Dubia, he said, “It is time for the final round”. Benazir Bhutto on the other day said that she would go back to Pakistan after talks with government yielded no results.-SANA
