India-Pakistan talks Wullar Barrage, Tulbut project to begin tomorrow

NEW DELHI: India and Pakistan are all set to begin talks on the issue of Wullar Barrage and Tulbal navigation project. Both the issues are the last item on table in the four rounds of composite dialogue process. They are still to find time to actually discuss the health of the lake, the main source of water to River Jhelum and a life line for Punjab and Sindh plains downstream. Quite recently while Pakistan had raised concerns at the rising pollution levels in River Jhelum flowing towards its territory, conservation of the Wullar lake, which is the main source of water for Islamabad and its Mangla Dam project, is still a problem. Experts say, it was high time for both countries to join their energies to conserve this crucial water reservoir.-SANA
