ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the PML and its allies introduced a culture of good governance and transparency in the country. Talking to the Federal Minister for Environment Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, who called on him at the Prime Minister House here on Tuesday, the prime minister said that consistency of policies is critical for Pakistan’s future development.
PML and its coalition partners will participate fully in the upcoming elections on the basis of their track record to win the mandate of the people and to ensure that desired progress and prosperity is achieved, he stated. Appreciating performance of the Ministry of Environment, the Prime Minister emphasised to ensure strict adherence to international environmental standards. In every part of economic activity the environmental aspect must be kept in view because a safer environment is critical for Pakistan’s development, he said.
Faisal Saleh Hayat said that his Ministry is taking all possible measures to ensure compliance with Pakistan’s international commitments. He apprised the Prime Minister that record development has taken place in his constituency during the tenure of the present government which includes job opportunities for the people and improved standard of living. He said that various projects relating to the provision of gas, electricity, drinking water and construction of roads have been completed in his constituency during last few years. The minister briefed the Prime Minister about the status of ongoing development schemes in his constituency. The Ramadhan package announced by the government for controlling the prices of essential items and the steps taken to increase the income of the farming community had a positive impact on the people, he concluded.
