JEDDAH: Pakistan and Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) signed a trade agreement. Pakistani ambassador Shahid Karimullah and OIC secretary-general Prof Dr Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu signed the deal.
Earlier, the rules and regulation of the agreement were finalized that facilitate Pakistan in bilateral trade with the member countries. The agreement would be implemented from January 2009. Read the full story

ISLAMABAD: The Government has decided to import three hundred thousand tonnes of Urea to ensure its adequate supply to farmers and provide more subsidies on DAP fertilizer to stabilize its prices. This was announced by Advisor to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo at a news conference in Islamabad this afternoon. Read the full story

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Food and Agriculture Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan informed Friday the National Assembly that prices of urea fertilizer have gone up significantly during the last one year due to continuous increase in the international market.
Responding to a call attention notice He said seventy percent of urea required for the country has to be imported. The call attention notice was moved by Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani and others regarding high prices of phosphate fertilizer products. The National Assembly referred to its Finance Committee the matter of Stock Market Scandal of 2005 that resulted in seven hundred billion rupees loss to the investors in the Stock Exchanges. Later, the House was adjourned sine die.-SANA
