It is easy to find comprehensive resources on most Western achievers, but it is rare to find about heroes from any of the developing countries particularly women. That never meant that the heroes do not exist however dilemma is; they are not written about.
The most respected of scholars, such as Mohammad Allama Iqbal, and champions of human rights causes, such as Abdul Sattar Edhi, are virtually unknown to general Western public and to the world at large. Finding literature on women achievers from South Asian or Muslim countries is even more unusual.
This website is a good effort in this regard by an Pakistani-American woman; Laila Kazmi-Barsotti decided to highlight the many inspirational women from Pakistan at jazbah.org. She with his team is able to create dynamic Web presence intended to recognize the great women achievers of Pakistan.
