Blogging; has emerged as an excellent idea to express opinions and thoughts and to get information on any issue you name. On Blogs writings are especially dedicated to a more casual presentation of information style. Mostly blogs are written conversationally, with more emphasis on opinion and commentary than a more specialized report. The internet is the ideal location for this style of writing while most of newspaper can not accommodate every single opinion by the readers and even contributors sometimes, so it’s no wonder blogs are quickly becoming a favored style of website. Interestingly Content Management system has become uncomplicated that less effort, time and expertise is required to upload content on internet more specifically on blog. With advent of Wordpress.com and Blogger.com; people can have their blogs free of cost. No headache of domain registration, getting the hosting services and theme designs; everything is available in just time of clicking the fingers… Nonetheless content writers are in most cases Bloggers themselves.

Blogs are being created every second, and ratio is doubled than it was in 2007. In 2006 Daily Posting Volume tracked by Technorati.com is now over 1.2 Million posts per day, i.e. about 50,000 posts per hour. This number is increasing with every bit of second. Wikipedia has categorized blogs as Personal Blogs, Corportae blogs, question blogs, Media Type, and by Genre; These are the blogs focusing on particular subject, such as politicas, travel, housing, fashion, project, education, niche blogs, classical music, quizzing blogs etc etc.

Blogging is no more an unfamiliar concept in Pakistan; even far flung and less developed areas of North West Frontier Province and Baluchistan people if not blogging are reading blogs and responding to blogs in shape of comments. Hundreds of bloggers across the country are contributing and securing reputation as successful bloggers with huge readerships and fan followings.

Thus Blogs have gained popularity as powerful news medium having capacity to influence millions; thus media organizations started blogs as non-traditional tools to reach their targeted audience on their websites. However there are two schools of thoughts standing in clear juxtaposition regarding the blurring Blogs with NewsMedia. One school of thought has approved the standardized idea of bright future of blogshpere; as it has power to influence and control million minds in seconds and emerging as popular news media. While other denounces it by saying that dependence upon Blogs are nor rational neither preferable because it involves subjectivity and bias. To some extent both are correct in their paraphernalia.

Famous Blogs are being co-opted even more by those who control the leading media industries; people come across on daily basis e.g. NewYork Times; Washington Post or it is about Dawn or Wateen in Pakistan. Blog needs to have organic and natural traffic in abundance for Yahoo’s Alexa rating and Google’s Page Ranks. Thus When talking of a blog as strong source of influencing opinion; Popularity is prerequisite among people who rely for information on such mediums. Consequently bigger the name of associated Media to blog Higher will be the traffic on blog giving an authoritative status to blogs. Blogs regardless of Search Engine’s priority are seemingly becoming more and more brand names. Blogs owned and operated by media corporations can have content bit more idiosyncratic and eccentric than other, more “mainstream,” blogs. It is known fact that media conglomerations have vested interests thus media corporations never let a chance slip to get vested interests served. A criticism on individual or personal blogs as these carry biased approach; can be invalidated just by opening up the fact that big blogs are also contain manipulated content. It is not a dissuading idea for not having blogs associated with authority media but an attempt to draw attention to the importance of personal and individualistic blogs that remain obscure. However where content is king; “Independent & Individual” blogs are produced like “independent” movies depending upon how powerful is the idea and substance that can be refer as influencing rather trend setting.

For Millions blogging is a complete media industry that is expanding on daily basis; people who want to be heard need platforms to raise their voices against a simple issue and build a community of readers; through citation keeps on adding to blogs freely and openly without any certain restriction of PEMRA or other ordinances in several countries in order to put curbs on media. “New internet” (flicker and Youtube) has made the horizon so broad; and billions of internet users are joining citizen journalism with full capacity to make and break governments. On a very interesting note journalism or even criticism on political clout is no longer limited to Networks, lobbyists and journalists in case of West and on simple Congregations in East.

All you need is a computer and a free account, and you’re suddenly theoretically capable of reaching as many people or more as the editor of the New York Times. However with more and more crowd coming to blog to express them will expectedly reduce the quality of the content.

It has been interesting to observe that blogs have become really popular medium to reach audience for politicians, players, actors and other professionals too. Political campaigns are being run and shun on blogs. Hilary and Obama for Presidential Election’s 2008 have been coming and networking on Digg, it allowed them to develop contact with people that in other cases would might have not possible. Further more it was easy for them to get quickest first hand response rather than their PR machineries inform them about their popularity ratios according to falsifying polls. In a very recent Gallup Survey John McCain Republican Presidential candidate has gained more popularity then Democratic Barrack Obama; because every other blog was being written in favor of McCain. Early this year it was Obama who won not only Caucasus but defeated Halliray Clinton for nomination. During 2004 elections blogging was a relatively a new idea. There weren’t many blogs and number of readers was very low. But for 2008 blogsphere is playing vital role in American presidential Elections; people are reading at least one blog a day, in many cases it is a few dozen. But the news and viewpoints are being noticed either by the bloggers themselves or by their readers in the comments sections of the blogs.

Realizing the importance of blogs almost All celebrities have started establishing their own blogs including Hollywood and Bollywood actors and actresses and cricketers and squash players etc etc. With development of blogs these people are in better positions to interact directly with their fans and can even increase their fan bank. They can get opportunities to answer to the offending scandals initiated by Mass Media including TV Channels or newspapers; whereas for people these blogs would be reliable as to coming directly from the original source. Thus both ideas about blogs as source of influencing people and opposing it because bloggers are too subjective; actually complement each other. As one media is coining and idea other media is approving it or disapproving it. Eventually the bloggers are valuable tools for persuading and convincing people by subjective or objective approach; sometimes endorsing ideas coined by mainstream media.
;
Pakistan has become the 10th biggest user of internet in Asia; Pakistani bloggers are usually referred as more self-centered; blogging about themselves and friends etc however the dire need of time is to use blogging as constructive medium to communicate with people who are aliens to our culture and our society and only receives filtered information about this part of world. Pakistanis bloggers would surely be heard if their emphasis should be more on diffusing image of Pakistan against notions including “ terrorists state” “failed state” “Violent states” etc etc. It would be more valuable for Pakistan to get their voices heard in external world as first hand information. Due to being in embryonic stages However Pakistan’s blogosphere still have to learn a lot from international bloggers.
It would be debatable to People usually are the products of the societies where do they live and grow, so we can not blame bloggers from Pakistan to be self-centered, it is quite natural. I have found several doctors writing blogs about medicine; health and fitness, many environmentalists who only write about environment not in Pakistan but in every part of the world. So writing depicts anyone’s interests and natural tendency and what things effect them. as far as i know There is no code of conduct yet defined for bloggers to restrict them from writing anything. I have my personal blogs along with the blogs where i write as a professional.

Blogging is still an emerging concept in Pakistan, 2007 has been the year for people all over the world who started blogging but very less number of Pakistanis have gone for Blogs. I believe this is an upcoming strong shape of media so people will start relying upon blogs and mature content will come up. It is in phase one comparing with our neighbors India, so give Pakistanis a cushion to gradually move forward.

PESHAWAR: The NWFP Governor, Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani has said that present is the age of fittest of the fittest to ensure survival, one must be well organized, managed, well versed and skilled to do the things to the best in line with the given tasks. Addressing as the chief guest at the graduation ceremony of 2nd Mid Career Management Course at National Institute of Management at Peshawar on Saturday, the Governor said, “he has always found the civil servants of Pakistan highly competent, following a scientific approach in dialing the given matters”. “The civil service, he added, is the best tool to manage the country and success of the nation depends not only upon, how it works but also how it is handled” he said.

In fact, he remarked, good governance has always remained the cherished desire of every government in our country to achieve the desired goals of national development and progress and one has to make constant efforts to further improve its working. In this connection, the Governor said, the best option could be the development of internal reform process in each and every institution to cope with the present day needs. “There should be a continued debate in a well democratic and accommodative manner to reach to a well thought conclusion on any initiative or matter and once a decision is taken, that should have to be followed in letter and spirit to derive the desired results”, he said.

Such types of debates, the Governor said, always deliver well and make a logical conclusion. The present system of governance in our country, the Governor said, does have certain deficiencies and shortcomings, but at the same time, he added, efforts are also underway to improve the things. In all 90 mid career officers, hailing from different service streams of the government were awarded certificates on completion of their training on this occasion.

Talking about prevailing situation in the country especially in this province with special reference to law and order aspects, the Governor said, indeed the problems are multi-dimensional which definitely require multi-dimensional approach to tackle them. “The situation is the result of the developments took place over the past almost 30 years and definitely there could never be quick fixes in this respect”, he said.

Though, Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani said, this is a complicated and challenging situation, yet, he added, it is manageable and we are overcoming it successfully in a gradual but efficient manner. In fact, the Governor said, we have a long history of challenges and our’s is a unique country of becoming stronger after successfully meeting every new challenge and this time too we would emerge stronger as compared to the past.

Referring to the recent initiatives, taken to ensure effective coordination between the settled districts and the adjacent tribal agencies, the Governor said, these have been proving quite successful and efforts would be continued to remove deficiencies. In fact, , the Governor said, the devolution of power was the need of the hour, which, he added is delivering well, but at the same time, he added, efforts would have to be continued to remove loopholes.

Pointing towards the graduating officers, the Governor said, they must have complete faith in their leadership and the destiny; read the things in between the lines on any matter and reach to the logical conclusion on the given situation. “You should be facing highly experienced, capable and knowledgeable seniors and therefore you should also be well educated and well versed on the matters to be dealt in your service career”, he said. In fact, he added, there should be a philosophical approach to analyze the issues and make a conclusion on the basis of ground realities as well.

While congratulating the graduating officers, the Governor also wished them complete success in the fulfillment of their responsibilities. Earlier, the Director General of National Institute of Management, Sheikh Naseerul Haq, while presenting the performance report highlighted aims and objectives of the course whereas a participant of the course, Mr. Shafqat Ali Khan, hailing from Foreign Service dwelt upon the salient features of the experiences of the training process.-SANA

Every year TIME magazine selects the “PERSON OF THE YEAR” and dedicates an issue to that particular person or a group of people who have played a major role in influencing the events of the past year. In the year 2006 TIME gave all its readers a surprise by naming its PERSON OF THE YEAR as “YOU”. What? Me? I am the TIME PERSON OF THE YEAR? You have got to be kidding me!!! What did I do to influence events? I am a simple computer geek who programs, reads technical books, blogs….there you go. Blogs…Wait a Minute…. Yes, I Blog. Not only that I Digg, Stumble, Edit contents on Wikipedia, submit videos on You Tube…. basically I am the person who generates contents.. Scratch that.. I am the person who generates content which is read and viewed by others. So am I influencing others????… Well that’s what TIME magazine thinks so…

Wikipedia defines Blog as a website which is usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. That’s precisely what my blog contains… I started blogging initially with an intention of posting good quality technical contents on my website. I joined blogger.com, created an account and done. Well not exactly. Later I found out that this is not enough, apart from coming up continuously with good quality contents, you also need to join social networking sites like stumbleupon, digg, reddit, propeller and twitter so that you can make friends who will ultimately visit your blog and drop comments and maybe give links to your website from their blogs as well… So what? That’s it? This is blogging?

Well no…Blogging is all this and much much more. Blogging is a great way to earn good money while sitting at home. You create an account in Google’s AdSense and with every single click on the advertisement, you get paid. With many much more options available on blogging domains like blogger and wordpress, bloggers and blogs are in for a prosperous future…

In year 2007 more and more bloggers came on the screen. There has been several conversations started regarding the popularity of a blog or newspaper, these have become more and more influencing tools to influence the minds. A clear decline according to Google stats have been noticed in readership of newspapers.

Blogs are being created every second, and ratio is doubled than it was in 2007. In 2006 Daily Posting Volume tracked by Technorati is now over 1.2 Million posts per day, which is about 50,000 posts per hour. Interesting question here is to answer whether these blogs are contributing productive things or not.. well are these able to keep the pace with high tech and ultra fast world? And how can these bloggers maintain their growth pace equal to the changes in the world or these eventually become sources of change in world.

With Blogs becoming a full time earning opportunity; many people are quitting their jobs or devoting more time to work on their blogs. People tend to let blogs act as creative outlets for them. I know of friends who started writing blogs after they ended their relationships with their boyfriends/girlfriends. They saw blogging as an outlet for their grief. While others initially saw blogging as a way to enhance their skills, people who were interested in writing stories and poems would post them on their blog and subsequently would make friends with people of similar interests. I personally started writing blogs after i felt the need to be in the midst of this exploding blogging craze. I started a technical blog and posted source codes and links and articles and hoped that one day I would meet people with similar interests. And I did. Sharing one’s knowledge with others and getting some constructive feed back, is according to me the best thing about blogging..

All things said and done, the question that looms large is whether this is how the future is going to be? People tend to change their jobs after some time. Why? Some say that it’s too boring? Zero Excitement? Work Trouble? So what is in store for bloggers?

Blogging domains like blogger, blogspot, blogsphere and wordpress continuously keep on updating the services so that more and more people turn towards blogging. Widget was a new term coined some years back. Widget is a piece of code that you can embed inside your blog. With beautiful widgets and gadgets coming the bloggers way, they excitedly add these to their page to make it visually more appealing. The reason behind this widgets and gadgets being offered to you? To avoid the same reason which forces people to change job and switch careers… to avoid blogging from being monotonous.

And what about bloggers? Blogging became a big craze and is still one of the biggest forms of internet usage. How long is this going to continue? Will people ever get tired of it? Answer is plain damn simple. NO.… This is the Tech era where almost everything is available on the internet. Social networking sites, Blogs and Instant Messaging help people keep in touch with people with similar interests. Exchange of knowledge, information and idea has become so fast and easy with the help of blogging that it would be difficult for bloggers to imagine lives without it. With more and more people getting involved in blogging and discovering a whole new world blogs and bloggers are here to stay…

I love blogging. Once I started I could not believe how I used to live without it. And I think that blogging is one of the best things that have happened to me. Even then it would be wrong on my part to hide the drawbacks of blogging. Few days back I read an article on the net which was related to Bloggers and how blogging affects their life. Bloggers work for as long as 14-15 hours a day to keep their blog up to date and to make the latest news available to their readers. And this takes a toll on their health. Working in the rapidly changing information era is always going to be difficult and coming up with good quality articles always is a pressure for bloggers.

Blogs and Bloggers are a great gift to Internet. With the way the Internet has emerged in the past decade it will be really difficult to predict how the blogging phenomenon is going to continue. As a blogger I can only hope and wish that blogging continues with the same intensity that is present today.

LAHORE: A two-day workshop for lawyers from Lahore was organized under the auspices of International Organization for Migration ( IOM) to The basic aim of the workshop was to strengthen the capacity of the Legal authorities to effectively combat human trafficking, on Saturday.

The workshop, which is funded by the US Department of State, Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, was organized with the cooperation of the Ministry of Law, Justice & Human Rights, Lahore High Court Bar Association, Punjab Bar Council, Lahore Bar Association and District Courts Narowal. A considerable number of lawyers from the Punjab Bar Council, Lahore High Court Bar and Lahore Bar Association attended the workshop.

Mr. Anwar Kamal, President, Lahore High Court Bar Association , who was the chief speaker, pointed out that although there has been a strong commitment of the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA), Ministry of Interior (MOI) to implement the Protection and Control of Human Trafficking Ordinance 2002, its principles are yet to be mainstreamed in the administration, specifically, and important to coordinate FIA’s efforts with the Magistrate and lawyers who are in charge of the effective implementation of the Ordinance.

He also supported IOM’s motto of “orderly and humane migration befits both migrants and society.” Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mehmood Saleem, the Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Development, appreciated IOM’s initiative and emphasized upon more advocacy events at district and grass-roots level. He ensured that the Ministry will coordinate and provide full support to women victims of trafficking, and asked bar associations to inform relevant quarters whenever they come across such cases.

The Secretary informed that there are 25 women centers all over Pakistan which provide legal and medical aid and shelter to victims and have plans to establish more centers across Pakistan within 2 years. The workshop also included intensive panel discussions to promote inter-institutional cooperation for anti-trafficking measures. Panelists included representatives from the Migration Management Cell of the MOI and internal cell FIA, Gender Reform Action Committee from the Ministry of Women and Development and NGOs working on human trafficking and legal issues.

The panel moderator, former Ambassador Tariq Osman Haider pointed out the important role of the legally settled Pakistani Diaspora abroad and their annual contribution of US$7 billion in valuable foreign exchange remittances important to Pakistan ’s economy. He expressed that the need of the hour is enhanced education and vocational training for improving capacity and productivity in Pakistan, and to avail of shorter term migration and employment opportunities abroad.

From the audience, Ms. Uzma Razzaq, Advocate of the Lahore High Court, appreciated the collective effort by IOM, government ministries and civil society for conducting such an awareness-raising training for the lawyers. She suggested developing mechanisms with which trafficked women and children should be provided extra care and protection because in her opinion, it is imperative with respect to Pakistani society where vulnerable segments are often neglected.

Rubab Saleem was interviewed by The Pakistani Spectator
This was an interesting interview and i was intrigued to get this type of things on my Blog also.
I am grateful to Ghazala Khan for taking this interview.

Could you tell us what made you decide to blog?
I always want my voice to be heard, i have been writing for the National dailies of Pakistan in this connection, thus i have tendency to write. Pakistani Newspapers are though a great tool to reach the Pakistani masses however to reach the world and convey my message to them convinced me to have a blog or two. In my blog i prefer to address such issues that can bring change to Pakistan constructively.

What do you think sets Your blog apart from other blogs?
The news paper format of my blog and its exclusive news coverage with an added factor of opinion and reviews. It is almost an online newspapers that has great readership and contribution from almost every sphere of life within Pakistan. It has potential to provide serve the appetite of readers who needs information about Pakistan. I conduct surveys to pour the opinion of a lay man to the literati..
I have a special section of success stories, where everyone is open to share their personal, professional and spiritual stories.

If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success, what would it be?
Hardwork is major factor that i am blessed with to reach any goal in my life i aspired to. I attribute my every success to Hard work come determination.

What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?
Life is intricate web of several relationships and our happiness and gloominess is always associated with most of our relations, While my father passed back in 1988, i probably was unable to understand at that time what his absence can bring to my and my family’s life. But i was extremely despaired. I always become the happiest person while someone appreciates my mom’s efforts to rear me up like a symbolic daughter for so many others.

Urdu Blogs have got huge potential, when do you think they will really take on the online horizon in Pakistan?
Urdu widely understandable not only in Pakistan but in other parts of Asia also. Even huge number of overseas Pakistanis also speak and understand Urdu. I have got a request from one of my journalist friend to develop an Urdu blog for him also. So i find in near future it would be possible for the Bloggers who blog in Urdu can reach to a targeted segment of Urdu speaking audience. Urdu bloggers have a great future provided an Urdu Social Bookmarking Site is established for them.

If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s
paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?
Ahhh Lovely question! I would want to explore each and every part of the world however being particular and giving three destinations i would want to go to Egypt, Australia and Rome.

What is your favorite book and why?
I am a book worm thus like several books but for one book i always want to stop to refresh myself is Qur’an Kareen. It is a complete “How to” guide to spend life in most righteous manner.

What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?
It is the aura that i always feel and notice on meeting anyone stranger or acquaint. In most cases i find myself right and it helps me in defining my level of relationship with people. Aura covers every perspective of somebody’s personality.

Do you think Pakistani politicians could benefit from the social networks and things like twitter?
Frankly speaking, they don’t have knowledge of things like twitter however their PR machineries can surely get benefit out of these sites, Facebook is a worthy tool as more and more people are clinging to FaceBook. Politicians can certainly get help for molding opinion in their favour. I have found US candidates for Presidential Election’s 2008 coming and networking on Digg, it allows them to reach to their people. However politician first need to make Pakistanis addictive of internet to the extent that they could use it as a tool for their political compiegns.

Whose Future is more bright in Pakistan; English blogs or Urdu Blogs?
Yet English, as most of the people who surf internet are able to understand English. They come online with a perception to come accross with English stuff whatever it is blog or other sources. But with the increased ratio of literacy, more population will consutl to internet and can benefit from Urdu also.

How Pakistani bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?
Google AdSence and PPC is the major element that can help these bloggers in earning like so many other bloggers who are getting financial benefit out of Blogs in other parts of the world. Further advertisement from the multinational Companies is another good source provided a blog has good Page Rank. and Alexa and readability.

Do you think Pakistani bloggers tend to remain somewhat self-centered and really don’t go out of their shells? Is it the oriental style of blogging, or they are still unsure about it?
People usually are the products of the societies where do they live and grow, so we can not blame bloggers from Pakistan to be self-centered, it is quite natural.

Is it true that who has a successful blog has an awful lot of time on their hands?
To reach to some heights is easy but to maintain it is difficult, i am afraid you are partially wrong in saying that successful bloggers have awful lot of time. Success is directly proportional to hard work and hard work is another name of investing time particularly in online entrepreneurship. In many cases bloggers outsource content and social media marketing, even than they have to keep an eye on what is coming on their blogs

What are your thoughts on corporate blogs and what do you think the biggest advantages and disadvantages are?
Corporate blogs are a useful tool to reach organizational goals, a PR technique. Feed back in shape of comments and posts in helpful to determined organizations to redesign their goals in accordance with the demand. Every organization supports internal and external blogs where stakeholders can be the organization’s consultants. Several browsers support RSS technology thats without actually visiting blog one can read what is new to these blogs.
It is an easy access for the prospective public to reach the organizational structures, even CEO.
These logs are an additional source of popularity and image building. These can be use to influence Markets and competitors.
Similarly posts with negative perspectives can destroy the image of organization. For me there are more advantages though I encourage corporate blogs.

Do you think this whole emphasis on blogs and whatever online is a significant indicator to show that the web, the social web, is becoming a very important social force?
I deem it wise to agree, more and more emphasize is on being social on internet. There are so many social media marketing sites that are compelling internet users to be more social particularly bloggers, this is a techniques for search engines also to have more stuff on their engines i order to make their engines full of reliable stuff. Another thing, The information given on the social marketing site is usually shared. and producers of several products also pick targeted users for their products, ideas or content.

What do you think where the Pakistani blogosphere is right now?
It is in emerging phase and in a transitional process from personal to professional usage, i am sure after one or two years Pakistani Blogsphere, if things keep on working with same pace will capture South Asian markets.

Who are your top five favourite bloggers in Pakistan?
I am sure i can refer their blogs
www.dirjournal.com
www.pakspectator.com
www.chowrangi.com
www.pakpositive.com
www.mypakistan.com

Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger in Pakistani blogosphere?
Yes!
dirjournal’s How to guides excellent technique

What is the future of blogging in Pakistan?
I am certain it is bright provided shortage of electricity is not dragging Pakistan to stone age. Blogs are run on unique content and ideas, Pakistan is rich in ideas therefore the future of Pakistan is blogging.

In political respect, can we say blogging a ‘democracy of message’?
Yes it can be, till the ordinance like PEMRA by the Government of Pakistan are up to curb the free expression of opinion on Pakistan’s blogsphere. Well Blog are democratic messages in other parts of the world. Also there are examples of curbed blogs in several regions where people spoke against governments.

Can Pakistani blogosphere play any notable role in the forthcoming elections, if they happen at all?
I am afraid “No”, yet it can not play a noticeable role in the forthcoming Elections. People have strong affiliation with certain ethnic, regional or individualistic political parties thus to change their opinions are a bit difficult. Secondly Electronic Media is now a days more active and building Public Opinions in favour of the politicians who pay them more and small number of masses consult internet to get information, as ratio of literacy is not high and access to resource like computers and internet is yet not in support of this idea.
However in future with UN, West and US aided agencies new era of computers will start and elections would be fought on blogging platform.

You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?
It is my life now regardless of personal and professional. I am always on my blogs writing and giving my message to the people. I have got several online friends and contributors for my blog. I am more sociable online and less off line while it was exactly opposite to what is right now.

What are your future plans?
I am interested in starting a Social Media Bookmarking Site for Pakistani Bloggers, great news is i have started with the name of PublicWar
I also intend to come into main stream journalists of Pakistan who have the strength to influence the minds of people.

Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?
Love Pakistan Be Pakistan and visit regularly The Pakistani Spectator.

When Bloggers run short of topics

Nostalgia and blogging are connected in a very close and symbiotic relationship. According to some wise man “worst things turn pleasant once these are the part of past”, thus Pleasant or worst past memories are the treasure for a blogger. These memories become a guide to blogger, he/she plucks the flowers of memories from past and place those onto the strings of words. Strings and fibers after being knitted in accordance with the demands and nature of subject those results in cropping up a precise, comprehensive, useful and meaningful piece of writing.

Occasionally sensitive and receptive issue emerged that suit to the taste of community; however it is one of the most difficult things to form one’s ideas and scattered thoughts into words written or spoken, and those words that carry weight for others also. There are chances that these words can influence someone’s behaviour or set of mind. For a blogger it is easy to sculpture ideas and carve those in impressive way according to target set.

However when creativity abandons the companionship of blogger, it becomes difficult for person to write or to communicate in any way. Sometimes a blogger is bored of writing, reading, compiling thoughts and then again writing and sometimes runs short of topics. Whatever the case might be, it becomes incumbent upon person to write something as readers wait for new pieces of writing from certain bloggers. If a bloggger is into Social Media Marketing to get monitory benefits out of blog, SMM sites remain craved for new bits of writings to fulfill their hunger.

I always believed that creativity can never flourish under the pressure of financial benefits; creativity is a plant that naturally grows within human beings; fed and watered by the human experiences with passage of time. There are many bloggers who would deem it wise to agree that it is difficult to create something while meeting deadlines. And for those who are in the media, single mistake under deadline pressure proves disastrous. Even then a blogger like an editor of news paper has to write and show it to world within specified time periods, nostalgia guides the person here. In such difficult situations, past memories assist Bloggers. A long journey of traveling back into past gets started.

Along with digging out topics for blog, It is very good time to recall parents advises, school days, peers, friends, full of fun life that was free from worrries, teachers, family friends, neighbours, relatives, shopkeepers, ice cream sellers, toy shop, parks, beggars, school van drivers, canteen, siblings, grand parents, aunts, uncles, last but not the least lost friends. Suddenly blogger come across with a strange and interesting character having certain strange qualifications. They start finding the interested topics, places and things to write about. Even small games like playing with marbles can become sources of inspiration and they start writing.

Running a daily blog is a complicated proposition. Bloggers under the gun to get the story, make it compelling, informative. However blogging offers encouraging perception that the whole world is blogger’s subject and bloggers are free to express on any type of topic without the fear of curbs and censorships thus topics including their personal experiences spreading from bitter punishments on not completing homework or teasing younger siblings; their small games; their inventions; their questions; their first experience to reading signboards; learning writing; traveling to hill stations; orientation to religious training; co-circular activities including debut to face audience; sports; spellethone; debates; quiz; handwriting competitions; music; aptitude tests to detect what type of capability this kid possesses; determining of future objectives; training on certain lines; punishments; meetings; stealing chocolates and sweets from mom’s cupboard and sometimes from refrigerators; bunking school; watching movies; playing in scorching heats despite the fact mom and dad will beat when they will come to know; diseases, doctors and stinks of hospitals; injuries and tetanus injections; tuition teachers; shopping and showing stubbornness to buy certain toy; naughtiness; mischievous; cycling and environment he rears up, factors that are involved in his present personality and more in the queue as many as the blogger is old.

Even blogger is rushed with the ideas and his problem takes new direction; i.e. how to select a topic out of millions? A blogger’s problem never ends here, as what blogger wants to write; readers might not be found interested in those topics. Blogger adjoins the present and past to produce unique content that is manageable by the system and can easily be picked up by search engines due to its distinctive nature and quality.

This is a significant idea for all bloggers to select topics for their blogs. Quoting some wise man that nothing is new on the earth and everything is customized; everything is pre-determined and has occurred already. So it is easy to customize ideas from past and give them shape of master pieces with spices of present times not only to preserve history, culture and environment; but also to prove the cliché right. It will help up-coming writers of other generations to research this generation by bloggers own reviews and point of views and provide them with chances to re-write on topics dug and recommended by bloggers. They will search, research, re-write, recalls and remember bloggers, re-assemble to make them strong references in their piece of writings when they are stuck at some points of their lives where they are running short of topics.

ISLAMABAD: A six-month Leadership Development Course ended here, with the participants echoing a strong voice for a democratic Pakistan. The course, spanned over six months, was offered by Centre for Civic Education Pakistan in collaboration with the National Democratic Institute (NDI). Twenty selected young leaders from all over the country participated in it.

“Democracy is not a spectators’ sport to enhance youth capacities for democratic citizenship and pledged to volunteer for a cause to cultivate their promise and potential for democratic Pakistan,” resolved the participants. “Upon completion of the course, we feel that young people who constitute majority of the country’s population should take position on various issues, defend it through the force of argument and peacefully advocate for their vision,” they said.

The course covered topics like: understanding various dimensions of democracy, role of youth in a democratic society, concept of leadership, political system of Pakistan, active citizenship and imperatives of civic participation, public policy articulation, communication skills, and research methodology to conduct survey and opinion polls. The participant visited the central secretariats of ruling Pakistan Muslim League and Pakistan People’s Party to observe the working of political parties as citizen’s institutions.

The course also offered the participants an opportunity to devise strategies to address issues like terrorism, suicide attacks, price hike, unemployment and other civic problems. “It was a planning for ways to better engage young people to successfully take action in the development of democracy in Pakistan,” commented a participant.

Sheila Fruman, Country Director of NDI talking about the concept of leadership urged the participants to stand for principles, be willing to sacrifice, struggle with compassion, prove to be trust worthy, lead by example, and exhibit courage. The participants dissected the dynamics that led to the success of recent movement for rule of law and independence of judiciary. “Stop avoiding the first courageous step,” was the lesson learnt.

The participants also finalized a research report, “The Marginalized Generation: political behaviors of Pakistani youth,” based on their countrywide survey among youth to understand their political perceptions and attitudes. Peter Andreas Bochmann, resident representative of Friedrich Naumann Foundation and Emil Atanasovski of NDI distributed certificates among the participants.

Online education is one of the blessings for the domesticated and even working women in Pakistan, from their busy schedules of domestic chores and loads of official works, they can always steal time to get admission in an online education medium to make themselves congruent for the world. Online studies as a part of distant learning is helpful to domesticated and working women equally; they can manage their leisure time to make a constructive and better use of it. In Pakistan most of the domesticated women tend to stay home and can’t make out to go out of their homes because they have to look after their families; and time management to attend universities and colleges is almost impossible for them, thus online education helps them in this regard. Similarly working women interested in furthering the cause of higher studies; can get benefit from online education. It is believed that online education is practical and workable idea for the middle aged women who are interested in getting education or advancing in their fields. Many Americans women have adopted online mode of education to continue their studies along with their works.

Pakistan is still struggling to enter into the race of developed countries of the world; however its social, religious and cultural milieu has few limitations which thwart the growth of women in Pakistan. It is now truism that no national can rise to highest levels of triumph without the productive participation of women. Sooner or later; this fact has been realized by the Government of Pakistan, fortunately. They have started empowering Pakistani women. However there have been many challenges identified in this context including practice literacy, access to the employment opportunities, and general perception of their changing role in the world and the voice for their social status. The dissection of female education in Pakistan refers to various aspects of today’s living where internet and international electronic media has helped in actualizing the dream of literate Pakistani women. Further the induction of enlightened moderation concept has changed the whole picture in Pakistan; and more and more women are now conscious of their futures; that previously have been drafted by male members of families or sometime left for the fate to decide. It is a historical move that women have 33 % representation in National assembly. Their presence has given whole female folk a sense of participation into mainstream decision making process. For the first time in history this huge but neglected segment of the society is gaining access to the employment opportunities on every level where Governor State Bank of Pakistan is women. Women like Ms. Bhutto and Dr. Shamshad has become inspiring figure for the rest of Pakistani women.

Internet is one of the exceptional ramifications of Globalization that certainly cater various needs of the contemporary world. It has played a revolutionary role to make the world heterodox, unconventional, skeptical and education oriented; that is ready to accept the odds. The constructive effects of internet for bringing behavioral change have been noticed in very nook and corner of the world including Pakistan. A paradigm shift has been noticed among the young and middle aged people in this regard; where along with men women have become conscious about their careers and education. Thus an average age of getting married among literate Pakistani women is increasing.

Pakistan being the third world country has lesser sources to offer to education system; while neighboring countries have accumulated the heaps of conventional and non-conventional weapons into their arsenals. The efforts of Government can not be ignored to enhance the literacy rate in Pakistan. Endeavors of government including the Perha Likha Punjab; allocation of more budget for reforms in education system; various collaborations with international universities; and public-private partnership to open need base colleges and schools have played major role in making Pakistan literate. Theses initiatives have helped a lot in making people particularly women folk to get better and purposeful education; more and more people have become insightful to quality education.

However ground realities are different as sufficient number of schools, colleges and universities available is yet not able to meet the needs of increasing population; when people in Pakistan are motivated to acquire education. Former President Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto paved way for distant learning by initiating the Illama Iqbal Open University in Pakistan back in 1970s to fill the gap between needs and demands. Many women and men have been benefited with this system; however this system is losing its credibility. Virtual university concept was introduced in last decade; a segment of the people is also attracted toward this education system. However with introduction of advanced methodologies, old systems are becoming obsolete and Pakistani females are recommended to get foreign education. This is pertinent to mention that Pakistan is a poor country and very small number of people has access to the internet, hence females are still getting advantage of these distant learning systems.

A low number of educational institutions in Pakistan is unable to cater the demand hence a panacea suggested is to get online education. With online education people have easy access to opportunities synchronized by quality. Online education is computer based education and information exchange system, for that one needs to adopt simple methods that include having internet facility on the computer. For online education internet is main requirement that connects the pupils to the online education medium. A surging demand for computers has already been observed in Pakistan to compete in the global markets. Thus second hand computers are being imported from west in huge quantities. Little local wisdom mixed with the ability to utilize computers can help in getting computers on cheap rates. Further investments made by the various multinational companies in tele-communication sector in Pakistan, has helped in reduction of prices of dial-up connections or even DSL. Several wireless internet connections are now available on cheap rates in metropolitans.

Non-native origin business community exploits the unaware labor force moving to West from Asian countries.

Low per-capita incomes, unequal access to the opportunities, heavy loads of big families, lesser resources to feed them, with all these factors the inhabitants of 3rd world countries are ambitious to have better living standards and quality of life. A life fulfilling human needs and basic rights is deficient in the third world due to weak institutions, and infrastructures, low rate of literacy, less pace of social and economical development rather decelerating momentum has compelled the inhabitants of third world to find their dreams in West that seemingly is Heaven. It is a straight and admit-able fact that they are the group of human beings which is never satisfied poor living conditions in their indigenous countries.

Youngsters from third world always look for the heaven on the earth but does Heaven exist on earth? If it exists then where it is? Millions of enthusiasts leave their homes, cities and native countries every year in search of heavens they have shaped in their dreams. The quality and nature of their dreams determine how far they have to go for finding their heaven. Many decades of foreign rule had given them a shallow system completely unable to help people to get a quality life. Economy without any check and balance, lawlessness, sense of insecurity, social injustice, and sense of being nobody make them move to find a place where at least above mentioned evils don’t exist. Naturally the western industrialized countries become the obvious choice for these frustrated young people. Next step they come across after designing dreams and targeting their destination is; how to reach their objectives; rich industrialize countries? Here starts the problem, while being exploited by the human smugglers; they pay handsome amounts of money to them; sometimes after selling the jewelry of their mothers or by borrowing it from family. It has been observed that amount paid to human smugglers is equivalent to the per-capita income of particular industrialized country. Youth migrated from troubled countries to west is noticeably from the lower middle class or poor families, hence it is difficult for their families to afford 10 to 15 thousand dollars just for traveling to fulfill their expensive dreams. However people send their children to industrialized countries after selling their houses and precious entities just to earn a peaceful living. The dreams of the youngsters here get connected with the wishes of their families also.

But after reaching, these naive youngsters packed with dreams find their dreams were mere illusions as it is not easy for them to be the part of the society, as indigenous people hardly accept them and absorb them, they have to face first predicament to get embedded in social lives of racist westerners. Further the rules and regulations for expiates in various countries including EU, US and other western countries leave them hopeless to join the workforce as it is sometimes unfeasible to comply with those, their illegal status usually aggravate the situation.

Another realization is observed; in legal framework they are not allowed to work without a work permit in particular country. West has surplus labor force living on welfare system; now they are not hunters of legal workers from the downtrodden world. Illegitimately immigrants are the first choice of the western employers with non-native origin, mostly settled for long in the west and established lucrative businesses by gauging legal or illegal methods. However behind the success of much non-native origin business community; is their hard work, which they exerted for more than two decades in flourishing their business. They always need cheap labor to sustain their small businesses as mostly have small shops, restaurants or labor supplying contracts. This situation welcomes new illegal immigrants to be exploited by the businessmen from non-native origin. They always look for the people in “trouble”. They attract them in the name of nationalism or religion and give them jobs without asking any work permit or residence permit. Here starts the real sufferings of a ‘dreamer”.

3 D (a commonly know term by the bingers in west) becomes nightmare for them. Ironically the meanings of 3D from three dimensional techniques transforms to Dirty, Difficult or Dangerous works. Practically, Money and ignorance is the best combination to make anybody a worst human being. And these brave “brave” employers are blessed with combination. Interestingly indigenous businessmen are not also clean and void of such practices. The only difference noticed, locals and indigenous businessmen are far lesser involve in this malign practice. Harming the business and reputations and indigenous origin are the factors, refrain them from indulging themselves into activities of exploiting troubled labor. It is noticed that they can’t afford stigma of exploitation and bad reputation for their business, but still a segment of the local community abuses work force. Immigrant businessmen think otherwise and their thought process is confined to money making by hook or by crook in possible shortest spans of times. Their non-native status is the main impetus for collecting money and returning back to homes. However pimps, non-native origin western business community never gets contended. Their lust never experiences boundaries, till they die on a foreign soil.

It is found that hey even don’t integrate into the western society and don’t let anybody get associated to them as employee. They remain isolated despite the fact that they are also immigrants. Their lust for money results in political crisis that has been witnessed in the west presently, however this is another debate. Pathetic plight of illegal workers in the industrially developed countries by the non-native origin business community is the main focus of this article. Hence these troubled workers have to work for long hours for less then one third of minimum wages. Further they are assigned to work on dirty, dangerous or difficult places.

Leviathan shopping plazas and housing colonies in metropolitans of third world countries; usually owned by the people who are settled businessmen in UK, Europe or North America and invest back into their countries on the cost of their own countrymen’s exploitation. These capitalists have multi-pronged formula to make money, by getting work from the labor and then selling their products to them again. Hence there is no difference between the pimp selling human flesh or human labor. Exploitation must be stopped, as flow of migrants from lowest per capita income countries to highest paid countries is inevitable, hence governments of the third world countries should ponder upon the grave issue of exploitative environment coming across their people. Diplomatic houses in these countries can play important role in order to stop this menace. Moreover the people aspiring to leave their country with out proper planning and paper work should take measures and should not jump in the well where they can come out after passing their golden youth period or in some cases never.

This article throws light on the sufferings of the people who traveled to industrialized countries from third world trouble ridden countries to fulfill their dreams of economic prosperity, but they face an embarrassing situation on reaching there.

“Who taught you all this, Doctor?”
The reply came promptly:
“Sufferings.”
– Albert Camus, The Plague

Operating in a social web, surrounded by various problems and confusions, nerves of people are stressed out. And the rate of psychological diseases and mental illnesses is increasing day by day among people. Perplexity and uncertainty in society are the factors stipulated by the psychologists for dissatisfaction, which leads to emotional collapse and mental disorders.

In human societies problems are usually need based. Every human being has primary and secondary needs, which are specified by the preferences, a man establishes for making life comfortable and existence easy. According to Maslow’s Needs Hierarchy, Psychological (Primary) needs e.g. food; shelter and clothing are at foundation for other needs. Security and safety, self esteem and self actualization are placed on top of his hierarchical pyramid. All these needs are operating together and humans are working to in order to satisfy these. However relatedness among them is categorized in accordance with the goals defined.

Studies show that partial or complete, concrete or indeterminate failures lead to anxieties and distresses. These failures are denoted as pauses, interruptions in compliance of set objectives consequently prolonging the process of achievements but can never become dead ends to move forward in life. Gurus and masters on success literature explain that positive attitude can help in coping with up these factors, for which SELF AWARENESS is prerequisite. Self awareness is first step towards the motivation and Tip to drain out all the stresses is motivation. Accomplishment of goals and motivation to accomplish them is directly proportional to each other. Stronger the motivation, stronger would be the will to fulfill need.

Hence Self awareness that what one wants to do and what are the methods to achieve goals and designing of effective strategies & techniques in accordance with need of achievement, need of power and need of affiliation. Answering what to do? Why to do? How to do? When to do? Type questions help is self assessment and self control. Anthony Robbins in his bestseller book AWAKENING THE GIANT WITHIN astonishes us by teaching the methods to take immediate control of our mental, emotional, physical & financial destiny by tapping the unlimited power lie within man. Orison Swett Marden says:

“Deep within man dwell those slumbering powers;
Powers that would astonish him,
That he never dreamed of possessing;
Forces that would revolutionize his life if aroused
And put into action”

Aristotle has termed man as Social Animal and every human being is interdependent upon each other for carrying out needs. However motivation is usually identified individual specific but the driving force behind is unusually societal and communal. To a certain extent responsibilities are factor to keep oneself up to the level. Many suicidal cases have been investigated all over the world indicate un-accomplishment of responsibilities leaded them to this harsh decision. Hence motivation keeps people to fight against worse discouraging factors. Motivation can not be situation specific; it is enormous strength that is provoked and aroused for both personal and professional competitiveness. Motivation leads to high performances and prepare people to face challenges.

In organizations where workloads lead to pressures and anxieties, motivation is taken as managerial tip, and employees are provided with financial securities, opportunities to socialize, acknowledgments, absolute rewards, healthy environment, encouragements, praise in public, annual functions, profit sharing, caring, and offering of various incentives. These motivational factors play an important role in getting them free from the social and psychological stresses. Their responses and behaviors become positive and they work with willingness and exert efforts. Ultimately performance is elevated and goal is successfully achieved.
