FIA mafia in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province
Islamabad: The DCO Nowshera, Zakaullah Khattak has barred sale of machinery and land of Adamjee Paper Mills under section 144 CrPc. However, owners say that have acquired an NOC for sale of land and machinery. The administration insists that it is illegal. Both parties will try their muscles over the issue. This scam worth 5.2 billion rupees was unearthed by some FIA officials and a former director closed it. Another director reopened it and pursued the gang involved that cost him job.
Now, yet another director FIA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been appointed there on the behest of mafia and provincial government to hammer out things. It is in doubt that removal of DG FIA Waseem Ahmed would hurt interests of that influential mafia.
Fasihuddin Fasih, former director FIA said that inquiry (No. 68/2009) against the Adamjee Paper Mills, which was closed by one of his predecessors Inam Ghani for no valid reasons, involved a scam of approx Rs 5.2 billion and about 1200 kanals of government land acquired for industry, was re-opened by him. He added that some officials in the FIA in connivance with the `culprit mafia` were busy to do away with this another mega corruption case.
He pointed out that the strength of the mafia of corruption could be judged from the fact that an executive engineer, a main accused and a friend of a senior FIA officer in the mega case, had been re-posted in the field at the same station Peshawar from desk job within 24 hour of his transfer. He added that he was twice transferred and subsequently removed from the post within five months of posting as he unearthed scams worth billions and refused to accommodate anybody.
“I was threatened and pressurized by political figures following which a well-orchestrated character assassination campaign was launched but such steps failed to deter me leaving powerful mafia with little choice but to get me removed in five months while the official tenure of three years,” he said.
He said that those who were against inquiries and registration of FIRs against the influential involved is massive plunder of national resources removed him so that their files may not see light of the day. A gang of FIA top officials is hand in glove with them, he alleged.
