India trying to hoodwink the world community: JKSM
SRINAGAR: The AJKAPHC Chapter leader and Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Altaf Ahmad Bhat said that the people of Kashmir had been offering sacrifices for securing their right to self-determination and the eight-point formula of India is nothing new but trying to hoodwink the world community and a time waste package.
Addressing party activists on phone in Srinagar Bhat, said India should create a favourable atmosphere for a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He said Kashmir is a disputed territory and the fresh package was nothing more than a part of its long policy of delaying tactics.
He also strongly expressed concern over the statements of Indian Foreign office and Ministry on Kashmir and against Pakistan adding that it means India is not sincere to take positive and meaningful steps for dialogue on Kashmir and friendship with the neighboring countries. He urged India to adopt a realistic approach and give the Kashmiri people their inalienable right to self-determination.
Indian Foreign Minister, S M Krishna’s statement in the United Nations that plebiscite was held in Jammu and Kashmir said elections held in Kashmir are farcical and under the constitution of India cannot be a replacement for right to self-determination and were held merely for administrative purposes. the United Nations has accepted that elections can have no bearing on the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir. India by taking the issue to United Nations itself accepted the disputed nature and is morally and legally bound to resolve this issue through dialogue with Pakistan and the people of Kashmir, he added.-SANA
