LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has sent a summary to the Ministry of Railways for filing an appeal to the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the order of Lahore High Court to restore service of six trains following their suspension. Later, a decision was made at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to approach SC for filing an appeal against the LHC order.

The Ministry of Railways has adopted the stance that it is not possible for the time being to restore service of the suspended trains. The restoration of these trains will make it difficult to carry on service of other trains. Pakistan Railways has stated that the department is suffering from worst kind of financial crisis coupled with shortage of locomotives. -SANA
