Bill seeking Local Body polls postponement adopted in Sindh Provincial Assembly

KARACHI: A bill was unanimously adopted in the Sindh Provincial Assembly seeking the postponement of local body polls indefinitely, on Tuesday. The bill was moved by the Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro in the Assembly’s session chaired by Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro.
Presenting the bill, Khuro cited the situation arising out of the unprecedented floods that caused widespread damage to infrastructure in the province besides destruction to communication and agriculture. On the other hand, boycott of the session was continued by the ANP while members of MQM were away preparing for a rally to condemn the conviction of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui by a US court.-SANA
