What a politican Tipu is turning out to be! His father MSY once told an Indian journalist that good or bad thing about Tipu is that he always wants to be surrounded by common people. He can't live without people around him. He is a people's politician. This time he chose two Lok Sabha constituencies-Ferozabad and Kannauj, and won both the seats with comfortable margin. However, he won with over one lakh votes in Kannauj where from he has won three times in a row, but his victory margin in Ferozabad is a little over 60,000 votes. Going by the margin of victory, Akhilesh will most likely keep Kannauj seat, and will forsake his supporters in Ferozabad. You can't keep two seats in Indian Parliament.

The author, Frank Huzur, gives us a flavour of a politician that lingers on the taste buds and instills hope and optimism. Akhilesh looks young, I did not see his age, but I notice he is born a Scorpio. In my experience, these people are often good negotiators and experts at keeping their emotions under control. They offer stability. He looks to have plenty of energy and it's always nice to learn that a politician has a wife and children to keep him level headed. Thank you Frank for bringing Indian politics into my living room. I look forward to reading more about Akhilesh in the future and I like the way you seamlessly weave so much of your country into what is, in essence, the profile of a politician. I do not know much about India and its politics, but you are helping me learn.

It is interesting to read this perspective. I am based in Delhi, and can vouch for the charisma of Akhilesh Yadav alias Tipu in vast crowd of young Indians, especially in Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. Akhilesh impresses us more because he is trying to reach out to youth from all sections of Indian society. Rahul Gandhi is lucky in his comparison because he is born with a silver spoon in his mouth, greatness is thrust upon Rahul Gandhi, he is trying to achieve greatness, that is fine and good, but simply by staying the night in home of a deprived Dalit will not bring enduring solution.
Akhilesh may not be employing these tactics, but he is more accessible than any Indian politicians.
For Rahul Gandhi, youth of India is a card he has been playing just like the BJP has been playing 'Ram Mandir'Card. Whether Rahul Gandhi can continue to influence Indian youths in future will be tested hard now.
Akhilesh is a huge factor in emergence of Samajwadi Party as the third largest party in Indian parliament. He himself won from two seats.
Indian youths have found a good role model in Akhilesh.

Good one....we need secular people in India...
But there are evidence against his father Mr. Mulayam...that he is corrupted having lots of illegal properties in the name of his son (Tipu),his daughter-in-law and this is evident when Tipu seeked judicial probe instead of CBI investigations against the allegations his father is facing.Mulayam or Mullah Mulayam has always tried to prove himself secular....and supported terrorist organisations like SIMI..
If we look at it in other way..this so called "secular" mullah mulayam has insulted Indian Muslims by clubbing Peace loving loyal Indian Muslims with minority fanatic and Al-Qaeeda sympathizer Muslims.

Within two days of attack in Mumbai blast that left humdreds injured and several deaths, Mullah Mulayam stated SIMI has nothing to do with it. This is really an insult to Indian Muslim community as it is well known that SIMI is an extremist group.

Kamaal Farooqi of All India Muslim Personal Law board stated
"Yadav’s remarks are deplorable. If any organisation or group is involved in anti-national activity, we in the Muslim community have nothing to do with it,"

Farooqui cited how the Jamat-e-Islami, SIMI’s parent organisation, had severed all links with the students’ outfit and distanced itself from its actions.

"While we do not know for sure who is responsible for the inhuman bombings in Mumbai, there is no scope or rationale for bailing out anybody on the ground of religion," he said.

Have a look at the link below..by Rashid Kidwai, a famous journalist..

So, it seems that Akhilesh is also having the same ideology. We need secular politicians and that is correct....but not suporters of terrorisms and corrupted peoples.

However, Thanks to the author who has brought a good story in front of us.Really nicely written and mind-blowing story. It is a full fledged story on election capaigns in U.P.

Quite an Interesting piece of analysis!
Uttar Pradesh is the battleground state in Indian democratic landscape!
Akhilesh Yadav can turn the table on Gandhi dynasty if he continues his community engagement and people-friendly programme in relentless fashion
