12 students killed and 43 injured in toy bomb explosion in Lower Dir
LOWER DIR: At least twelve school children were killed and 43 other injured in a toy bomb blast at Luqman Banda area of Lower Dir. According to the police the explosion occurred when the school girls picked up the toy bomb while coming back from their school. Seven girl students were killed on the spot while other 43 were injured who were rushed to the nearby hospital. Those killed were all girl students and were in age group of 4 to 12. This was the first incident after announcement of Adl Regulation in Lower Dir District.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani have expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of innocent lives of children in a toy bomb explosion. The President conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the parents of the children. He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude. The President also directed the concerned authorities to launch a thorough probe into the tragic happening.
While Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani further directed the law enforcing agencies to keep a strong vigil on the miscreants who are bent upon creating law and order situation in the country to achieve their ulterior motives.-APP
