FBR empowered to send notices to blacklisted companies
ISLAMABAD: Spokesman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) clarified that the organization was empowered to send notices to blacklisted companies asking them to remove the objection raised by the revenue department. He was commenting on a news item appearing in a section of press regarding the blacklisted companies which were asked by FBR to remove objections.
“Yes we sent notices to blacklisted companies to check the accuracy of their tax returns data filed by them and when such companies remove the required objections they are cleared for tax refunds and adjustments “ Mehmood Alam Spokesman FBR told.
He said that sometimes the companies, filing tax returns without proper and requites tax data, are asked by FBR through notices to remove the objections. When asked about the actual number of such companies, Mehmood Alam said that the number keeps on changing as the blacklisted companies remove the objections raised by FBR.-APP
