Indemnity to Musharraf is betrayal of the entire nation: Ch. Nisar
TAXILA: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Thursday said that former president General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf not only toppled the democratic government on Oct 12, 1999, but also shed the nation’s dignity.
Apart from PML-N, every political party was ready to give indemnity to Pervez Musharraf, he said, adding that offering indemnity to the former president would be a betrayal of the entire nation and the country. In his address, PML-N leader was of the view that Mian Nawaz Sharif had strongly raised his voice against Musharraf.
He further said that PML-N lawmakers would silently listen to the President’s address to the joint sitting of two house of Parliament. About US drone raids; he said that the government needed to devise a clear policy in this connection.-SANA
