Zardari advises to link BSISP with NADRA verification
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has advised the government that institutions like Baitul Maal and Benazir Shaheed Income Support Programme be immediately linked with NADRA verification process to enable poor families particularly in tribal areas and Swat to receive the much needed assistance.
The President said this when a number of NGOs and human rights bodies submitted a signed petition urging swift action to help the poor and distressed families in Swat. The petition was signed by thousands of people representing a cross section including children, teachers, students, women, professionals, NGOs, parliamentarians, media persons and intellectuals.
The President said that the schools closed down in Swat must be reopened and efforts redoubled to bring back the displaced people to their homes. The President also advised that he should be kept posted with whatever steps were taken.-SANA
