Kashmiri outfits criticise evidence; Pakistan provides over Mumbai Terrorist Attcaks

Submitted by Omer Azam on February 13, 2009 – 7:49 am2 Comments

SRINAGAR: Pakistan’s prompt action on the Mumbai evidence provided by the India and the subsequent registration of FIR against the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba has evoked sharp criticism from Kashmiri outfits including LeT. However, most of the liberation groups have cautiously reacted to the development.

The spokesman of the LeT Dr Abdullah Gaznavi termed Pakistani decision as the country’s surrender before American and Indian pressure.

“India wants to portray the struggle for independence in Kashmir as a terrorist movement that is why it has conspired against LeT. America has fully supported India in her designs and Pakistan has meekly surrendered before both. LeT wants interior ministry of Pakistan as to whom it wanted to appease by going against Lashkar-e-Toiba.”

Meanwhile United Jehad Council has questioned the legitimacy of evidence provided by India.

“The evidence is just information not solid proof. Pakistani rulers have fallen prey to the conspiracy of Indo-American combine. We strongly condemn it,” Muzaffarabad based UJC spokesman Syed Saddaqat said in a statement.

Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani condemned the weak foreign policy of Pakistan.

“Pakistan has weak foreign policy. Till yesterday they were saying that proof is not enough and now they decided overnight and have bowed before the pressures,”

said the Hurriyat (G) chairman.

Former militant commander and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Forum chairman, Javid Ahmad Mir said internal position in Pakistan has compelled them to take such a decision.

“The internal politics and the pressure exerted on Pakistan by India and other countries have forced them to take such decision to file cases against LeT leaders.”

Another former militant commander and Hurriyat (M) leader, Zaffar Ahmad Bhat said when Mumbai attacks took place, the UJC, LeT and other militant groups operating in Kashmir instantly condemned the attack. “Since India and Pakistan are jointly probing the Mumbai attacks we hope something positive will come out,” he said. -SANA
