Team placed in Pakistan probing into Mumbai mayhem: FBI
WASHINGTON: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has confirmed that its team already placed in Pakistan was probing into Mumbai attacks; however, no special team was sent there. According to sources with in FBI that no special team form US was sent to Pakistan for probing into the matter as an FBI team already placed in Pakistan is carrying out the investigations. The team is probing into the sectors of telephonic records and other source of communication used by the militants but no remarkable achievement was made so far, the source added.
However Federal Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah has rejected the news published in different sections of media regarding FBI’s visit of Farid Kot. Talking to media men out side the Parliament House on Friday, he said Pakistan is a sovereign and independent country no foreign agency or institution can carry out investigation directly in any area of the country.
Media should be very careful regarding sensitive issues, he said. Regarding Muharram, he said that interior ministry has made an effective plan for the most sensitive places and it is very vigilant on the current situation.-SANA
