PESHAWAR: At least five people were killed as the United States military fired three missiles on Thursday in South Waziristan, it is the first US missile strike on the very first day of the new year. Security officials said that the missiles were fired in the Karikot area of South Waziristan and one of the missiles hit a vehicle, killing five people inside. The other two missiles struck a house, but it was empty at the time of the strike and thus no one was hurt.-SANA
