Pak-Cuba Friendship Society
The society will arrange bilateral visits of journalists, poets, writers and opinion makers and enhance people-to-people contact. The president of Pakistan Economy Watch has been nominated as President while renown columnist Baig Raj will be the Secretary General. Poet and journalist Ghazanfar Hashmi will be the vice president while drama writer Farheen Chaudhry has been nominated as joint secretary. Mr. Azam Effendi will be the patron of the society.
While speaking on the occasion, the ambassador Mr. Gustavo Gomez welcomed the move and thanked the office bearers of PCFS and assured full support to promote better understanding and friendly ties between the people of two countries.
He said Cuban nation is always ready to help Pakistanis in any hour of need. Dr. Murtaza Mughal expressed the hope that we will try best to bring people of two countries together. Recalling the humanitarian services offered by Cuban medical mission in the wake of deadly October 8, 2005 deadly earthquake, he said it was a great favour to Pakistan.
He said that this non-governmental and non-political society will pave the way for enhanced relationship between people of the two great nations.-Pak Economy Watch
