ISLAMABAD: The renowned Hero scientist of Pakistan, Dr A. Q. Khan Has strongly voiced his predicament regarding his absolute freedom by government, despite the unanimous demand of the entire Nation.

In his recent telephonic discussion with a Private TV channel, he cited many political leaders and high-ranking Army officers of absolving him (Dr A. Q. Khan) of all the charges levied against him, and also pointed out at various student and other vast civil society organizations who had strongly demanded his immediate release, but the government seemed to have shelved his entire case and concerns into cold storage, while turning a deaf ear to his strongest possible complaints about being granted immediate complete freedom. He also informed about being denied the permission to offer his daily prayers at his favorite mosque of past 25 years, since last four years. “All this hurts me very much, and one is bound to think that anyone who does something good for the Nation is apt to face such a negative attitude”, he complained.

He said that he had served his Nation well, under quite a duress, while putting his own life in danger, but he was not even allowed to offer his very first Eid prayers to be held under the auspices of a democratic government, which was a very painful regret for him. He scoffed at governmental claims and excuse of hiding all the issue under the garb of his extreme security measures, since these very security measures even failed to protect the life of late Benazir Bhutto herself.

“ God protected and would protect me, “ he maintained. “Nobody killed me while I was leading the nuclear programme, hence it is incomprehensible that anybody would ever kill me at this stage” he said. He disclosed that about 50 security personnel were deployed outside his house, whose permission he has to seek to go somewhere, and who have to further contact their non replying higher-ups. He also complained that those wishing him were often harassed, with guns pointed at them, and thanked TV channels for being quite helpful in disbursing a lot of useful knowledge. ONLINE
