Zardari to retain many Musharraf’s Associates

ISLAMABAD.: President Asif Ali Zardari is set to retain the National Security Council (NSC) created by former president retired Gen. Musharraf and its Secretary Tariq Aziz is shortly assume responsibilities of ‘Special Assistant to President’, highly placed sources told.

Tariq Aziz was the Secretary of National Security Council and a part of team which brokered ‘Power Sharing Deal’. Other than Tariq Aziz, President Asif Ali Zardari has already retained Dr.Waqar Masood, Secretary Finance; Dr. Ashfaq, Economic Advisor; ShaukatTarin, Advisor Banking; Lt. Gen. Nadeem Taj Director General ISI and many important bureaucrats and diplomats.

Political analysts in the Federal Capital suggest “Musharraf team is being retain in view of improving relations with the United States and dealing with on going global war against terrorism”.
