UK closes visa application centre
ISLAMABAD: Britain closed its visa application centre here on Thursday after receiving threats of terrorist violence. “The visa application centre in Islamabad received a threat, which we take seriously. So we opted to close down the centre in Islamabad in order that we fully assess the threat,” spokesperson for the British High Commission, Jennifer Wilkes told media without giving details of the threat.
She, however, said that the working of the mission’s visa section and a similar application centre in the port city of Karachi were unaffected by the move. Asked when the centre would be reopened, she said, “Once we are satisfied that we have fully assessed the threat and there is no longer a danger we will open the centre once again.”
Many Western countries have reduced the strength of the staff in their missions in Islamabad owing to threats of terrorist violence. Several countries such as the US do not permit their diplomatic staff to bring along their families to Pakistan.-SANA

ajk mirpur gerry will open on monday 29 sep 2008 but only to return the processed passports, and wont accepet new applications,

somebody just told me that Uk visa application centers have been shifted to Dubai…and now all pakistanis will have to submit their applications via Dubai…sounds absurd but it really got me worried… everybody assumed that visa application centers will reopen on the 29th but i went to gerry’s office today and it was closed …can somebosy tell me if they have any idea when the centers will start operating …i’ll be much oblidged
what is going on with british embassy i mean they have opened their vac in karachi and lhr but not in isb,,its really a nagging situation for the students who have completed all the doc for visa but unfortunately couldn’t process thier app coz of embassy down shuttering.

Hi. Tho phone number to arrange appointments is 0900 10411. The advice for all people in Punjab and AJK is to submit all your application at Lahore after obtaining appointment. All living in Sindh/Balouchistan is to arrang appointment wiht Karachi. Do not wait for Islamabad or Mirpur to open up. You will waste your time and money. Also all those whose appeal has been allowed and have received a letter they must call the above number also to arrange submission of their passport.

You will need to send
1. 3 months wage slips and letter from employer
2. 3 months bank statements with at least £2000
3. proof of your accomodation i.e mortgage statement or a accomodation survey it only cost £50.
4. letter of invitation or sponsor letter attested by solictor.
4 a copy of your passport
your brother needs to submit his bank statements from pakistan, proof of his income, proof of land or assets, proof of his accomodation. proof of his commitments socail, econoical,family in pakistan.

An urgent meeting was held at the residence of Anjum Kiani in Sheffield. all attendees strongly condemned the decision of the Supreme Court. They stated that this decision was a continuation of the Musharaf policy against the democratic leaders of Pakistan and done by judges who had no right to sit on the benches. The attendees urged the President Zardar, Pm Gilani and the PPP workers to protest alongside the Muslim League workers. this decision would further destabilise Pakistan. It has only been a few days since the People of Pakistan heard good news from the Tribal areas and Sawat in the form of peace. This decision would play in to the hands of anti- Pakistan forces. The supreme court decision would now turn the Wukla March in to a anti-govt march. The attendees urged the PPP government to to restore the Judiciary to 2/11 and not get them selves involved with unconstitutional decisions. Decisions like this will damage the PPP beyond repair. Imran Arif, Choudary Ramzan, Saqib Shah, Itrat Abbass, Syed Imdad, Raja Adnan, Choudary Javed. Imran Kiani and many others stated that they would protest against this decision and continue to only support democracy.

Aslamo alaikom Dear Kiani my appeal for settelment has been allowed by the court on 11-2-09 i received the copy on 26-2-09 now i m wondering wut to do. some one said i shld call the fedex and ask for the appointment some say i shld write to embassy enclosed the decision’s copy they’ll then call me or send me letter instructing wut to submit. i am realy confused pleas tell me wut is the right way of action and earliar reply will b highly appricated.
Ahmad Bhai! Although you have received your copy the appeals department inside the Embassy may have not even opened up your decision or email from the Tribunal Yet. It can take up to 6 weeks for them to contact you.
Fed ex will only call you when the Embassy have told them to call you.
You Should doe the following to attract the appeals dept towards your appeals 1. Send email with your ref number, passport number Date of birth, FCo number and state you have received the decsion and would like them to call you, state a telephone number. make sure you state you want to join your wife asap etc.
Also send them a copy of that email and a copy of decision to them by recorded delivery or even courier. Only send copy!!! not origional.
This will make them react quicker. If you dont they sometimes have taken up to 3 months. The email add is stated above. and you can get the address from the net for BHC Islamabad. Good Luck brother!!
Also before you come improve your Driving by taking lessons, Get a driving licence form Pakistan you can drive in Uk for 1 year,improve your English and info about the UK and systems, learn skill that may help you get a job. also be ready beacuse it is a tough life in UK and lots of give and take and sacrifice also. and Dont any promises to your family Pakistan that you may not be able to fulfil. and Remeber you are a Mazdoor in UK and nothing else.
The President must accept his mistakes and return Pakistan to true democracy.

The president is making one mistake after another. He has made a the Judiciary, Senate, National assembly and provinces in to a joke. It is due to his recent decisions he has invited and gave the courage to others to call Pakistan a failing state. The President should not make the same mistakes as Musharaf who destroyed the fabric of the pakistan society, culture, constitution and rule of law. The PPP is not to blame directly for this and can prove this by raising their concerns. The Pakistani public want Real Islam,democracy and justice. I appeal to the PPP leaders and the PPP supporters to put pressure on the President to change his attitude and personality as it is not conducive to democracy , reconciliation and stability in Pakistan. The President should apologise for his recent behaviour and pick up the struggle that BB Shaheed left. The PPP leaders should stop making arguments to defend the mistakes of the President. They should also stop protecting the presidents errors in judgement. They should also stop changing what BB expected of PPP when she was alive and after her death. They should also put the spirit back in to the Party as ZAB and BB wanted. PPP leaders look really bad on TV defending what is wrong in the first place. Farzana Raja, Pervez Ashraf, Fowzia Wahab,Nabel Gabool should look at their recordings they appear very arrogant and frustrated. All the mentioned were respected in all parties but recently they have lost the faith of the nation, but this can change if they re-evaluate their stance. Pakistan must come first and not Zardari Sahib. It is still not late for the President to realise his mistakes and take the steps to put Pakistan on the track of True Democracy and True justice. Both can only be achieved with sincere intentions. Politics of principles must return to Pakistan. It is obvious that by restoring the 2/11 judiciary, scrapping 58(2)B and 17 amendment. legal action against General Musharaf and his subordinates for contravening article 6, increasing the powers of the PM and national assembly, giving more powers to the Provinces and respecting the mandate of all parties till the next elections ,are the initial action that are needed to create an environment for Democracy to thrive. PPP government must not allow this opportunity to go wasted as they may never get a chance to to bring change to Pakistan.

This movement and success should also prove to those powers who were planning to destabilise our state that Pakistan is a nation is peace loving and democratic. And they should immediately stop defaming and Pakistan and show Pakistan in its true light. The movement should continue till the the 1973 constitution is restored in letter and spirit.It is also important for all differences to be left behind and all parties to now unite to face other such as the basic needs of the people of Pakistan, World view of Pakistan, negotiating and bring peace to FATA and Balcouchistan, Water and Power crisis.

Conspiracy to dissolve Punjab assembly being orchestrated by Suleman Taseer.
A meeting was held at the residence of Anjum Sohail Kiani of Kallar Syedan City and Sheffield. A number of prominent PPP supporters from Sheffield attended. The meeting was called in highlight of the recent negative and undemocratic comments, statements and indications given by the Punjab governor Suleman Taseer and other provincial and Federal leaders of the PPP. Concern was shown regarding the delaying tactics employed by the Taseer to lift the undemocratic Governor Rule and also in calling the meeting of the Punjab Assembly to make decisions in relation to Chief Minister. The delay tactics were to allow sufficient time for the PPP and Muslim League Q alliance to take place.
Attendees stated for the PPP to ally itself with the Muslim League Q would would only benefit the Choudary Brothers and damage the PPP vote base. This alliance would legitimise the unconstitutional steps that the Muslim League Q was party to during its government under General Musharaf. This would also contravene the Promises made by Benazir Bhutto Shaeed in the Charter of Democracy. Fear was shown that a conspiracy was taking place by Suleman Taseer and some so called PPP leaders whose names were not even known till last year and who do not have the support of the real PPP workers. Attendees requested all Parties to stand fully behind PM Gillani, this will give him the courage to take the necessary steps to direct Pakistan out of the storm.
Anjum Kiani, Irshad Hussain, Malik Farzand, Imdan Shah, Choudary Imran Aref, Imran Kiani,, Rana Irshad, Choudry Ramzan and others proposed that Governor Rule be lifted immediately,the Punjab Assembly meeting be called and a Free Vote(The Party Leaders allow their members to vote as they wish) be given to the members to elect the Chief Minister. and then it would be up to the PPP and Q to sit in the opposition and allow the Punjab Government to function for the duration of the term without hindrance and interference. This would be the only way out of this constitutional dilemma. It was added that All these dilemmas are due to the mistakes made by General Musharaf and Muslim League Q.

Liaqat Bhai. The letter should have been delivered by post. it will tell you whether your appeal was allowed.IF you have not received look at info above to contact them. Go to you Post office. If it has been allowed you may have to wait up to 3 months for you to get another letter asking you to submit your passport and arrange appointment.
Tasawar Bhai. if you are appeal has good grounds Islamabad may change their decsion within 28 days and ask you to submit yor passport. If it is weak then it will go the tribunal in UK,this could be up to after 4/6 months. I hope you have stated on the AIT2 form that your wife will attend the hearing.After the hearing and if it is allowed it will take another 2/3 months for your call letter. GTry to get yor wife to get supporting letter from her Local MP.

The judge at AIT has 10 days to make a decsion. The home office have a further 10 days to appeal against that decsion if he allows it. If he he does not you have 28 days to ask for a review .they will then send a copy of that desicion to you wihtin a month. wait till at least end of April 2009. If it is allowed islamabad will take about 3 months to contact you to submit your passport. have a look at my messages furhter up for what to do after that and how to make contact wiht islamabad and how to send reminder etc. good luck.
Farooq bhai . is some one attending the hearing on your behalf. IF they are the judge does give a good indication if it is allowed. It is alwys best to ask for a oral hearing. Some people ask for written hearing and that is usually not the best options. always ask for oral hearing and ask for your sponsor to attend.the success rate is better in oral hearing.

slm , iapplied satelment visa 15th of jan 2009 i was refused on 16th of feb 2009, the reasons were so stupid , i had all the documnets,
they said they my marriage is not valid. while living in uk couple of time i went to the court and they accepted my marrage. but pak uk embassy said they think its not valid. i send appeal to the given address via TCS ,,, Ramna 5 PO box 1122 ISB.
my grounds r very strong. as u said in embassy they take 28 days . is there any way that i can find out whats going on with my appeal ??

28 days is for the Entry clearence manager to review your case. if he does not allow he will send to UK to tribunal which will take 6 months.
make sure you send proof of marriage from UK that you state,
send declartion,affadvaid from person who did nikka which is done infornt of notary public,magistrate.
send your wedding pics and video,
send decartion from repsected person who attended.

thanks brother, i have sent all documents to the embassy, i got married 7 years ago . the thing really pissed me off was ,that Myself and my sponsor are in a subsisting relationship and are legally married, as confirmed by immigration judges in two applications .
Adjudicator wrote clearly in her decision ” There is no challenge to the validity of the marriage or that the parties have lived togather since the marriage.As the applicant sent the copy of the determination from the previous appeal hearing. with the application”
ECO said that my marriage is not valid after going through all the documnets and the reall marriage certificate.

sorry for late reply. you cn call the AIT UK directly or ask your spouse to call them and see where things have got to and whether it has been logged. BHC ISB really needs to sort its internal culture out and train people properly, i am sorry to say it is mostly the local employees that are making the mistakes! the number for AIT UK IS

my visit visa application is under process for over 12 weeks at the BHC ISB. i have repeatedly tired contacting them by fax and email but its no use. Abu Dhabi wont reply either abd gerrys is useless. Any ideas on what to do? I have applied several times before and this has never happened. I dont kno what to do. I thought 12 weeks was their top limit for processing?

Due to the current security situation the processing time is longer because your applciation is going from Visa application centre to Fed ex, then BHC ISB then to Abu Dhabi etc. It will be matter of days till you get your reply. Check on the visaapplcation site and enter your details that will tell you where it has got too. They may not reply to you in these circumstances. Kepp checking the visaapplication site.

Also due to the arrest in UK of the students who i feel are innocnet and seem as if it a blunder or conspiracy the process is taking longer. i would adivse all students coming to UK to be very careful, have all there documents, be carful of who they hang around wiht, concentrate on there studies, comply with restrictions fully, if they have money sent to them it must be via a bank, and if they send to Pakistan it must not be via hawal or hundi. keep all there paperwork up to date,
