ISLAMABAD: The government has banned three outfits operating in Khyber agency. According to a press release issued by the Interior Ministry Lashkar-e-Islam of Mangal Bagh, Ansarul Islam of Mehbubul Haq and Haji Namdar Group were banned. The press release said FATA Secretariat has requested the Interior Ministry to ban all criminal groups operating in Khyber agency and involved in creating myriad problems and violence causing extreme hardship to the residents and endangering security of the Province.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has appreciated the efforts being made by the civilian law enforcement agencies to establish writ of the government in tribal areas and the adjoining areas of Peshawar. The Prime Minister said this while talking to Mr. Rehman Malik Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior who briefed the Prime Minister on Monday on the targeted actions being taken by the Frontier Constabulary, Levies and Khassadars against law breakers.
The Adviser informed the Prime Minister that the action has been taken by the civilian law enforcement agencies although army is available as and when required. The Advisor also informed the Prime Minister that the writ of the government has been reinforced in these area and the people there have appreciated the action taken against the law breakers and assured their full cooperation in restoring peace and order in the area. The Advisor to Prime Minister on National Security Mr. Mahmud Durrani was also present in the meeting.
