By-polls’ results announced

ISLAMABAD: The unofficial results of by-elections of five national and twenty two provincial assemblies’ seats have been announced. Three National Assembly seats have been won by Pakistan Muslim League-N, and two by Pakistan Peoples Party candidates. The winning candidates are: Mohammad Safdar, Haji Pervez Khan and Afzaal Hussain of PML-N and Khurram Jahangir Watto and Khanzada Khan of PPP. Of the twelve Punjab Assembly seats PML-N has won seven, PPP three and independents two. The winners are: Rana Sanaullah Khan, Rana Shamim Ahmed Khan, Syed Zaheem Hussain Qadri, Rana Muhammad Arshad, Sardar Wajid Ali, Sardar Zulfikar Ali Khosa and Mian Fida Hussain of PML-N. Qasim Zia, Zulfiqar Ali Gondal and Qaisar Iqbal Sindhoo of Pakistan Peoples Party and the two independents are Makhdoomzada Syed Haroon ahmed Sultan Bukhari and Karamdad Wahla.

In the NWFP, National Awami Party, Pakistan Peoples Party and Independents have won two seats each. The winners are: Mohammad Taymour Khan and Sher Shah Khan of ANP, Muhammad Anwar Khan and Badshah Saleh of PPP and Dr. Mohammad Khalid Raza Pir Zakori Sharif and Taj Mohammad Khan Tarind Independents. Pir Syed Mohammad Bachal Shah of PPP has won the only Sindh Assembly seat. The result of an Abbotabad seat is still awaited. In the Balochistan Assembly Independents have won two and Peoples Party one seat. The names of the successful candidates are: Nawabzada Tariq Magsi and Pir Abdul Qadir Gilani Independents and Asfandyar Khan Kakar of PPP.-SANA
