ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesman Muhammad Sadiq briefing newsmen in Islamabad on Thursday said Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will represent Pakistan at the Summit. The theme of the 6th Summit is “Meeting Challenges through Innovative Cooperation”.
The Developing-8 (D-8) was formed as an economic development alliance consists of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey. To a question, the spokesman said Pakistan has accepted an invitation of Prime Minister’s visit to the United States and the dates are being finalized.
The 17th session of the Pakistan, Iran Joint Economic Commission will be held on 28th and 29th of this month in Teheran. Pakistan will represent by its Finance Minister Syed Naveed Qamar while the Foreign Minister of Iran Manouchehr Mottaki will head the Iranian side.-SANA
