ISLAMABAD: Plans have been chalked out for functions in connection with the birthday of Party’s Chairperson Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto falling on Saturday June 21. The functions to be held throughout the country will be held in low key with no fanfare and no cake cutting. Large scale portraits of Shaheed Mohtarma with flowers and candle light around will adorn the venue of functions and Quran Khawani will be held at maximum number of places. The Party leaders and workers will donate blood on the day at special camps to be set up for the purpose.
The main function in connection with the birthday celebration of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in the twin cities will be held in Rawalpindi at the Liaquat Bagh venue where she was assassinated on December 27 last. A Camp will be set up on Saturday June 21 at the Liaquat Bagh venue of assassination where the Party workers will donate blood during the day. Later in the evening a commemorative function marked by Quran Khawani and a vigil will be held to pay homage to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Federal Ministers in Islamabad and Party leaders from the twin cities including Raja Pervez Ashraf Minister for Water and Power, Qamar Zaman. Pakistan Railways has made elaborate arrangements to facilitate public on the eve of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s birthday, to be celebrated on Saturday throughout the country. According to a press release, the service of Qalandar Express between Larkana and Kotri will be extended to Karachi from Saturday. Qalandar Express train will leave Larkana daily at 2100 hours and reach at 7.45 a.m. next morning. Similarly, this train will leave Karachi at 2100 hours and reach Larkana at 7.30 a.m.
