Pakistan passing challenging time: Naveed

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Syed Naveed Qamar has said Pakistan currently is passing through the most challenging time since the democratic government took over. He was talking to Japanese Ambassador in Pakistan Mr. Seiji Kojima who called on him on Tuesday. Finance Minister apprised the Japanese Ambassador about Pre-Budget preparations along with other development related economic initiatives. Both the sides discussed institutional economic framework of their countries.

The Finance Minister said that special measures were underway to reform the national economy. The Japanese Ambassador said his government was taking keen interest in positively reviewing size of Japanese economic assistance to Pakistan. Particular emphasis would be laid on infrastructure development in the country, focusing highways, communication and other fields.-SANA
