BHAKKAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was elected unopposed from PP-48, Darya Khan Bhakkar II. Earlier, in General Election Saed Akbar Khan Nauwani, an independent candidate who contested election from the platform of Awami Nauwani Mahaz, had defeated PML-N ticket holder from the same constituency.
Later on, the Awami Nauwani Mahaz Group unconditionally joined the PML-N. And Saed Akbar Khan had invited Shahbaz Sharif to contest the bye-polls from the same constituency. Fifteen members, besides Shahbaz, had filed papers for the bye-polls; however, 11 of them withdrew papers in support of Shahbaz. Similarly, Shahbaz sharif was elected unopposed.-SANA
