ISLAMABAD: The World Bank has launched a one point two billion dollars programme to fight the global food crisis including two hundred million dollars in grants to poor countries facing the most dire need. Reports suggest that the new programme aims to speed up aid to those who are affected by high food prices. World Bank President, Robert Zolellic in a press conference in Tokyo said that crop insurance and other assistance for small farmers in developing countries will be part of the programme.-SANA
