UNDP to launch health programme in Sindh

KARACHI: The United Nations Development Programme would provide fifty million dollars to launch Mother Child Health Programme in ten districts of Sindh from next financial year. The offer was made by a nine-member delegation of doctors from Norway, representing UNDP, during meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah in Karachi.

The delegation apprised the Chief Minister that the infant mortality rate in Sindh is much higher as compared to other provinces and the situation required special attention They said that under the programme ten million dollars would be provided every year to facilitate the provision of training and supply of necessary medicines and equipments required for the project.-SANA
