ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister for Environment Mr. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi left on an official visit to Bonn, Germany, to attend the Ministerial Segment of the ninth meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP-9) to the Convention on Biological Diversity. The conference is being held from 28-30 May, 2008, to discuss the progress on negotiations on international regimes for access to biological resources and benefit sharing; 2010 targets to significantly reduce the current rate of biodiversity loss; and Life Web initiative for protected Areas.-SANA
