Japan to help in tackling environment

ISLAMABAD: Japan has assured Pakistan to provide all possible assistance for tackling the environmental issues. This assurance has been given by the Japanese Ambassador Seiji Kojima during a meeting with Federal Minister for Environment Hemeed Ullah Jan Afridi in Islamabad. The Japanese Ambassador said Japan is looking forward to assist Pakistan in forestry sector research, capacity building of the provincial forest departments and develop Clean Development Mechanism projects to help earth the carbon credits.

The Minister also requested the Japanese Ambassador for his country assistance to Pakistan in conversion of polythene bags into degradable products to minimize the environmental threats. The Minister also seeks cooperation of Japan in developing clean drinking water project in FATA.-SANA
