KARACHI: Deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has lauded the role of media and the civil society in the lawyers’ movement. In his telephonic address to a joint meeting of Sindh High Court Bar, Karachi Bar and Malir Bar associations he said the judiciary was always tried to be handled roughly in Pakistan and praised the judges that refused to take oath under the PCO.
He said no mischief would be allowed with the country. He said the situation has been changed in the country after Nov. 3 and the system has been transformed after the Feb. 18 elections. He said the lawyers would not avoid offering any sacrifice for the rule of the law and supremacy of the constitution in the country.-SANA
