PM for release of prisoners who completed sentences

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister has directed all four provincial governments to immediately release the prisoners, who have completed their sentences but are still in jail due to non payment of meager amount of fines. The Prime Minister said since the funds amounting to Rs. 7195692 have been released to the concerned departments, therefore all the necessary legal formalities be fulfilled at the earliest for the release of such prisoners. It may be mentioned that a total of 190 prisoners in all the four provinces who have been identified as such and have completed their sentences but are still in prisons for non-payment of small amount of fine.-SANA
