KARACHI: Pakistan is among the 25 major countries producing greenhouse gases. Prior to the meeting of G-8 countries’ environment ministers, the list issued said that Pakistan ranked 25th among the countries emitting gases that pollute the environment, while the US topped the list, EU placed 2nd, China 3rd, Russia 4th and India 5th. G-8 countries’ environment ministers will be meeting on May 24 for evolving a policy to control the increasing pace of greenhouse gas emissions, which would be presented in the meeting of the heads of G-8 countries slated in July.-SANA
