A fifteen point peace accord has been reached between Government of NWFP and the local Taliban told Minister Bashir Bilour. He said there would be complete ban on exhibition of Arms; FM Radio channels would be allowed to operate. This was announced by provincial minister Bishir Bilour during a press briefing in Peshawar this evening. He said this agreement will be confined to Sawat area only where lately militants had made rapid attacks on Army and paramilitary establishments. Spokesman of Tehrik-e-Taliban Ali Bakht and Haji Muslim Khan and was Senior Minister Rahimd Dad Khan from PPP were also present on the occasion.
Senior Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour said on the NWFP Government and local Taliban have signed fifteen point peace agreement wherein the Taliban agreed to eliminate training camps of the militants besides halting attacks against security forces and the government installations in Swat District. He added that Local Taliban would cooperate with the government and local Taliban have agreed to cooperate with the state machinery in the maintenance of peace and harmony in the region besides binding them to cooperate with the government in the maintenance of peace. He told that Taliban would not create any hurdle any women education further more Imam Dheri Madrassa, the stronghold of Taliban from where the present uprising had started by the rebellious cleric Maulana Fazlullah, would be converted into an Islamic University. Army troops will be gradually be sent back to barracks.
A committee has been constituted to monitor the role of government and the Talibans.
Ms. Sherry Rehaman, Federal Minister for Information told the media men after cabinet meeting that government is not negotiating with terrorists in FATA and Army has yet not withdrawn any of its battalion From Swat Vally.
