Power ministry’s directives to harm businesses: KESC
KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) has said the directives of the water and power ministry would negatively affect business and trade in the metropolis, however the load shedding duration can be reduced in residential areas. KESC executive director Tanzeem Naqvi talking to a Private TV channel said, WAPDA provided 20% of the power demand of Karachi.
He said the KESC was compelled to abide by the directives of the ministry of water and power though the complete implementation of these would only help to save 60 megawatts. He said 100 megawatt power could be saved daily with change of weekly off day in Karachi factories from Sunday to alternate days and careful use of air conditioners in the city.-SANA
