ISLAMABAD: The PML-N Secretary General, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has hinted that PML-N members have no problem in sitting on opposition benches if the agreement on judges restoration is not honoured. Talking to a foreign radion, Jhagra said that despite reservations over the PCO judges, his party accepted their retention in the coalition’s best interest.

He cautioned that his party will sit in opposition if the issue of judges restoration was not resolved as per agreement. “If the PPP is willing to restore real democracy in the country, it should not ignore the PML-N at any cost. Even if our party is ignored, we will not try to bring down PPP government, as it will damage democracy. We will rather prefer to play a vital role in opposition,” he added.

Sitting on opposition benches is part of democracy. PML-N has, however, not yet decided it. Our leader Mian Nawaz Sharif has still been endeavouring to keep the ruling coalition intact, he said. He said that both PML-N and the PPP are working sincerely for keeping their coalition intact so that democracy may flourish and take roots in the country for the betterment of the people of Pakistan.-SANA
