ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defense, Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar has directed the Pakistan Military Accounts Department (PMAD) to maintain strict financial discipline of defense-related transactions and ensure prompt and efficient payment to the concerned organizations.
He stated this while chairing a meeting in Ministry of Defense to review the performance of PMAD. The Military Accountant General (MAG), Raja Gul Mohammad Khan, gave a comprehensive presentation to the Minister about the functions and responsibilities of the Pakistan Military Accounts Department. He highlighted the steps taken by PMAD for improving the efficiency of the organization particularly the strengthening of its internal audit mechanism.
The MAG also informed the Minister about the achievements of the organization and said that plans were afoot to further strengthen and improve the efficiency and performance of the organization.
The Minister lauded the role and performance of PMAD and said that the organization needed further improvement in the area of training and capacity building for its human resource, Sana sources elaborated. He also asked the MAG to maintain financial discipline and ensure transparency in the Budget Monitoring and Expenditure Control System.-SANA
