KARACHI: Nisar Ahmad Khuhro and Shehla Raza of Pakistan Peoples Party have taken oath as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly. Outgoing Speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah administered the oath of speaker whereas newly elected Speaker Nisar Khuhro administered the oath to deputy speaker later.

The session was delayed for 3 hours that was to be held at 9 am. Security has been beefed up and no one was allowed to enter without checking passes. However, political workers managed to break into the Assembly building. Nisar Khoro filed 4 and Shehla Raza filed 2 nomination papers. They were elected unopposed.

Nisar Ahmad Khoro is the 14th Speaker and Shehla Raza the 15th Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly. PPP candidate for the slot of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah is also likely be elected unopposed.-SANA
