ISLAMABAD: Twenty-five persons including several former federal ministers have emerged as Capital Development Authority’s defaulters of the millions of rupees. The former federal ministers who are defaulters include Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Rao Sikanadr Iqbal, Liaqat Ali Jatoi and Sumera Malik.
These defaulters kept residing in the Government Hostel, CDA Officers Hostel, and Parliament Lodges and did not pay their dues before leaving their rooms. The Parliament Lodges Directorate of the CDA has sent the list of these defaulters to the Senior Special Magistrate for recovery of the dues. The magistrate’s court is facing difficulties for recovery of the dues as these persons had not given their home addresses.
The Directorate of Parliament Lodges controls the Parliament Lodges, Government Hostel and the CDA Officers Hostel. The list sent to Senior Special Magistrate includes the names of 25 persons. The defaulters of Parliament Lodges include Rao Sikanadar Iqbal, Lodge No. 202, Rs 17,617, Sumera Malik, Lodge No. E-301, Rs 8,000, Shahnaz Sheikh, Lodge No. E-209, Rs 16,000, M Naseer Mengal, Lodge No. J-111, Rs 13,072, Liaqat Ali Jatoi, Lodge No I-302, Rs 10,270, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Lodge No. G-202, Rs 13,092; the defaulters of the CDA Officer’s Hostel are Waqar Gillani, Room NO. 16, Rs 3,380, Faiz ur Rehman, Room No. 21, Rs 77,460, the defaulters of Government Hostel are Arif Khan, Room No. 66, Rs 11,720, Maj Abul Jabbar, Room No. 51, Rs 10,102, Dr Masoom Abidi, Room No. 32, Rs 36560, Rizwan Beg, Room No 28, Rs 1650, Ghalib Hussain Damki, Room No. 27, Rs 57,580, Changbaz Khan, Room No. 27, Rs 10,500, Abdur Rehman, Room No. 20, Rs 114,000, Dr Farid A Malik, Room No. 16, Rs 28,450, Dr Tahir Sajjad, Room No. 23, Rs 4140, Malik Waqar Aslam, SSP, Room No. 19, Rs 24,840, Syed Asif Shah, Room No. 8, Rs 53,667, Syed Tassawar Hussain Shah, Room No. 5, Rs 3,880 and Khushnood Ali Khan, Room No. 3, Rs 124,100.
It is learnt that the Senior Special Magistrate has requested the Deputy Director (Admin) of the Parliament Lodges Directorate that procedure of magistrate’s court be adopted for recovery of the dues. The Parliament Lodges Directorate officials told SANA that some of these persons had obtained the rooms using others’ reference and their correct addresses were not available. They confirmed that some former federal ministers had to pay the dues while former MNAs and Senators cleared their bills.-SANA
