ISLAMABAD: Naib Khateeb and spokesman of Lal Masjid Maulana Amir Siddique Tuesday demanded to release Maulana Abdul Aziz and said they reserved the right of peaceful and lawful demonstrations if he was not released. Talking to newsmen in Lal Masjid here on Tuesday, Maulana Amir Siddique refuted various statements appearing in a section of press which were attributed to the Lal Masjid. He said that only the spokesman of Lal Masjid was competent to issue any statement regarding the Mosque.
He demanded that the government should honour the Supreme Court decision regarding reconstruction of Jamia Hafsa and reopening of Jamia Faridia. He asked the government to restore the atmosphere of confidence by implementing the court’s orders.
Maulana Amir Siddique demanded to release Maulana Abdul Aziz and said they reserved the right of peaceful and lawful demonstrations if he was not released. He said they were in contact with Wafaq ul Madaras and other ulema on the issues related to Lal Masjid. He also condemned the shifting of Maulana Abdul Aziz to Adiala Jail from Simli Dam.-SANA
