ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Intellectual Forum (PIF) on Monday fully endorsed the recommendation of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) to name the Murree Road Rawalpindi after the martyred PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto and to build Shaheed Minar at the assassination site in Liaquat Bagh.
The writers and intellectuals belonging to four provinces, Gilgit, Baltistan and Azad Kashmir in a literary dialogue held under the auspices of Pakistan Intellectual Forum (PIF) passed a resolution to endorse the recommendation of the CPNE saying “CPNE recommendation is in fact real reflection of Pakistani intellect and wisdom to pay homage to our legends and, hence, the recommendation should be materialized at the earliest”.
The writers’ forum also demanded Shaheed Benazir Bhutto chairs in all the public sector universities for promotion of her contribution towards democracy and rule of law in the country.

The writers were of the view that her struggle was not for a particular period so that it may be forgotten in other times. On the contrary, it was a fight of right against wrong, of justice against injustice, and of guidance against perversion, they observed. “As long as the country exists, Mohtarma can never be forgotten” they opined.
