Pak to ink over 30 oil, gas exploration agreements

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan would sign more than 30 oil and gas exploration agreements with different companies during the next one year. This was stated by Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Ahsanullah Khan while talking to President of British Petroleum Company Tariq Khamisani.

They discussed matters pertaining to promoting Pak-BP cooperation in the oil and gas sector. The Minister said award of new concessions in oil and gas explorations in onshore and offshore areas of the country would provide tremendous investment opportunities for the local and foreign exploration and production companies. He said the new Petroleum Policy envisages attractive pricing terms for oil and gas exploration and production and a transparent procedure in awarding of blocks.

The President British Petroleum Company appreciated the unprecedented growth of Pakistan’s petroleum sector and said his company will continue to avail the investment opportunities in the exploration and production sector for the mutual advantage.-SANA
