ISLAMABAD: There are reports of widespread rain from most parts of the country for the last five consecutive days including the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad where 41 millimeter rain was recorded by the Met Office. According to Met Office, 80 millimeter rain was recorded in Murree, 48 millimeter in Muzaffarabad, 41 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, 40 in Noorpur Thal, 27 at Jhelum, 22 in Peshawar, 18 in Sialkot and Mandi Bahaudin, 17 in Gujranwala, 16 in Lahore, nine millimeter at Hyderabad and eight in Karachi, six at Badin, four at Rohri and two millimeter of rain was recorded at Zhob in Balochistan.
However, rain has stopped in Sindh, Balochistan and southern areas of Punjab. Snow-fall over the hills in Northern Areas, Azad Kashmir, Chitral, Murree hills, Galiat and hilly areas of Balochistan has also been reported. In Murree and Kaghan vallies about three to five feet snow-fall has been received so far. More rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in the Punjab, NWFP, North Balochistan and Kashmir during the next 12 hours.
