Govt to provide free medical treatment for injured in violence
ISLAMABAD: Government will provide free medial treatment to the people who have been injured in violence after the assassination of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto. This was stated by caretaker Minister for Health Ejaz Rahim while talking to media persons. He said that artificial limbs will be provided to those who suffered in the violence. He said that Nation Institute of Handicap (NIH) has been asked to provide artificial limbs free of cost to the victims. He said all government hospitals in the country have been directed to provide free medical treatment to the affectees.
Speaking on the occasion, caretaker Minister for Human Rights Ansar Burney who visited the Nudero to express condolence over the sad demise of Benazir Bhutto with her family said that anti-state elements took the benefit of the incident and tried to create law and order situation.
He said the situation has become normal and urged the masses to foil nefarious designs of these elements. He said that the government has already announced to compensate the affectees of the violence following the Liaquat Bagh incident.
Caretaker Minister for Population Welfare Dr. A.J. Khan said following the measures taken by the government the situation is now improving. He said the government is determined to create peaceful atmosphere for the holding of free, fair and transparent elections. He urged to forge unity among all ranks of the society and asked the political parties to not issue any inflammatory statement. Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs Khawaja Attaullah Khan and Minister for Culture and Sports Sardar Sikandar Hayat Jogizai were also present on the occasion.-SANA
